The Samsung wave S8500 is the first smart phone, with a touch screen which uses Samsung's "Bada" operating system and was released on the 1st of July 2010. The wave is a rather slim smart phone and uses Samsung's "Hummingbird" CPU, which comes with a stunning 720p HD screen, allowing you to record HD videos from your phone!
The phones front only has three "push" buttons, which are the pick up and hang up buttons, as well as the main menu button, you control the rest of the phone using its 3.3 inch touch screen. The touch screen comes with a anti smudge coating on top of the screen, which is great for preventing smudges on your touch screen.
The phone has a stunning 5 megapixel HD camera, as well as built in GPS and a 2/8gb internal storage, but allows you to enter a microSD memory card, allowing an additional 32GB of storage, plenty of room to store all of your videos, music and pictures! Along with this, it supports Bluetooth 3, as well built in wifi.
The wave comes preinstalled with Dolphin web browser, which does support flash, despite the fact it's disabled by default, this is due to flash causing web pages to load slower, if you do want to use the flash features on websites, you need to enable the flash feature.
Sadly Palringo instant messenger only supports Google talk and AOL messenger, there isn't currently any way to get MSN messenger / windows live messenger to work on the Samsung wave. which has put many instant messengers addicts off buying the phone.
After playing around with the Samsung wave's OS, I've found the iPhone and Andorid operating systems, to be a lot more powerful, despite the fact the S8500 has a lot of power in terms of hardware, but is sadly let down by Samsung's own operating system.
